Dresser Masoneilan has announced that it has been awarded $10 million in control valve contracts in China for CPR-1000 reactor plants under construction in Hongyanghe, Ningde, Yangjiang and Fangchenggang.
Dresser Masoneilan will provide the four nuclear power Control Valves
plants with Variable Resistance Trim (VRT) control valves, offering high controllability, extended valve life and maximum cavitation protection. The alternating plate segments in the VRT control valve provide smooth throttling control and seamless continuity in flow control. The increasing flow area yields high capacity and provides precise control when operating near the seated position. In low-flow conditions, the valve can be engineered to provide cavitation protection while also providing high capacity when cavitation protection is no longer required.
